Roger's ReviewWelcome to the one and only Weird Science Movie Website!

The booze hounds return... What a joke!

Back when we first put this site up in 1997, we thought that we must be the only ones who truly appreciated this classic film. Here we had one of the very first movies to really tap into the possibilities of networked computer systems and the sexual fantasies of young dudes, and there was absolutely no coverage or information about it available on the internet! Yeah, pretty ironic.

Since that time, however, we've discovered that there is indeed a huge international cult following for this film. Yeah, you think you and your buddies are the only ones who have kicked off the night at the local bar with "Fats, man, let me tell you my story, man..."? Acting out the funniest bar scene of all time is not a severe behavioral disorder, as some would have you believe. Weird Science has spawned a subculture around the globe that encourages quoting the movie at every opportunity!

Each main character in this movie represents someone that all of us have encountered at some point in our lives or, in some cases, is someone that we can personally relate to. Gary, the charismatic and imaginative visionary who hasn't quite tapped his potential yet, is played brilliantly by Anthony Michael Hall. You can tell this character is destined to be one of the coolest guys around, if given the chance. Or how about Wyatt, the smart, shy one who probably wouldn't even leave his bedroom in his rich parent's house if it weren't for Gary's influence. As depicted by Ilan Mitchell Smith, this is the guy that makes it all possible by making use of his supreme computer geek skills. Then there is Max and Ian (Robert Rusler and Robert Downey Jr.), the two cool guys who don't realize that they've already peaked! Finskies!! The most iconic character to come out of this masterpiece of cinematic achievement is, without a doubt, Chet; the bully older brother and all-around asshole of the film invented by Bill Paxton. (Anyone with a haircut like that has got to be an asshole!) Last, but not least, who could forget Lisa, played by the in-her-prime Kelly LeBrock. The scene where she is first revealed wearing those low-cut panties is enough to get a rise out of anyone! Do you KNOW what I'd like to do?

We've got a collection of good info, pictures, and sound clips from the movie here on the site for you to check out while you're slacking off at work or school, but it's no substitute. Go rent this movie and see it again, man! Get your buddies together, put in the DVD or crappy VHS version, and have a classic evening of Weird Science quotes! For those of you out there who have never seen it before, you will either love it or hate it. If you love it, feel content that you are among many others with similar heightened comical sensibilities. If you hate it, what can I say... You're stewed, buttwad!
